Structural grade air dried / semi-seasoned oak beams. Our oak beams are QP1, Structural Grade quality.
QP1 standard beams have a minimum of 3 straight edges (normally 4) and few knots. This makes them perfect for construction use and for restoring graded buildings and character properties. Air dried oak has been left to acclimatise after cutting. The air drying process ensures the beam’s moisture content has dropped, meaning that knots and splits are less likely to crack any further.
Along with our standard sizes listed, we hold a vast stock of beams from 50mm – 400mm and lengths up to 6000mm.
We can also cut to any size on our on-site sawmill.
We also have a number of fixed width, air dried boards with some substantial shakes and some have slightly warped as you can see from the pictures. These would be ideal for character table tops with butterfly repairs etc. Moisture Content approx 25%.
