Why We Have Partnered with RVVUP for Website Payments

Generally, there are two reasons why you might put serious thought into your payment method when purchasing online.

Either it takes too long to process or you have security concerns.

We have used a variety of different options for website payments with the aim of providing every customer with a solution they are happy with. Since our incorporation, we have partnered with trusted brands like PayPal and brought in the option to pay directly with a debit or credit card through Stripe in 2021.

8/10 buyers will abandon their cart if their preferred method of payment isn’t available (source). What is important to our customers is important to us.

So why switch to RVVUP?

What if you can simplify a process, make it more secure and unify all the options so that they look harmonious in one single interface? That is what RVVUP was able to offer.

For a while, we had been looking to incorporate a method of paying for Celtic Timber products directly from your bank account.

Why? Credit and debit cards weren’t designed to be used for online shopping. Whilst banks are making card transactions as secure as possible, it is relatively easy for small amounts of data to be stolen. I think most of us have wondered at some point if that last online purchase was a little too easy

Pay by Bank allows you to transfer funds directly from your bank account to the store you are looking to purchase from. The transaction is securely authenticated by your bank’s online banking website or app using methods that can include Face ID. There is also more protection from the banks for this kind of transaction, compared to a bank transfer.

RVVUP has also partnered with PayPal to process transactions and will soon be offering direct card payments for those that are either unsure of using the new technology or have not adopted online banking.

This means that all of our transactions are through the same platform and in turn:

  • The checkout process will be faster as there are fewer requests that our website makes.
  • There is less admin time spent trying to reconcile transactions or find specific payments for refunds/adjustments meaning our customer support response times have reduced.
  • The checkout design is more uniform, aesthetic and in turn, much better for conversion.
  • Your data is being looked after in one, secure place.
