Yellow Cedar is a perfect timber for exterior wall cladding, outdoor rooms and other outdoor uses. Cedar is a tough, durable timber that doesn’t need treating unless you wish to preserve its 'new' yellow look. It has an extremely long lifespan and will colour weather grey over time if not treated.
All are sustainably sourced from PEFC forestry.
What is the difference between Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Canadian Western Red Cedar and British Western Red Cedar?
Yellow cedar is a high-quality timber with very few knots or blemishes. It has a very straight grain. As the name suggests, it is renowned for its yellow tones, compared to the slightly redder colours of Canadian Western Red Cedar and British Cedar.
Our Alaskan yellow cedar is also kiln-dried prior to cutting to ensure the moisture level is significantly reduced which will result in less movement before installation and once installed.
PAR Cedar boards are finished at 22mm thick.
Profiled cedar cladding boards are finished at 18mm thick.
All profiles can be fixed both vertically and horizontally, with the exception of shiplap and shadowgap rainclear profiles, which can only be fixed horizontally. Please see profile images for approximate dimensions.
