Each planter is completely unique, showcasing natural grain, ageing, and markings from its previous life in winemaking. Built from thick, durable oak and finished with original galvanised steel hoops, giving it weight and durability - they are made to last outdoors year-round.

Available in a range of sizes — from compact herb planters to full statement barrels — they’re ideal for patios, gardens, entrances, and commercial spaces. The larger / taller options are also great as veg beds for growing anything from your favourite potatoes to even runner beans!

• Quarter Barrel – Perfect for herbs, small plants, and compact spaces
• Half Barrel – Ideal for flowers, small shrubs, and patios
• 35 Gallon Half Barrel – A slightly bigger half barrel, Great all-rounder for mixed planting. Slightly darker in appearance.
• 55 Gallon Half Barrel - Wide and deep, these make for a multiple of uses such as self contained veg, herbs or fruit beds. Statement planters for large flower displays, fruit trees etc.
• Three Quarter Barrel – Ideal for deeper planting, small trees, shrubs, growing veg such as potatoes etc.
• Full Barrel – Best for statement pieces, venue entrances, shrubs, or small trees

If you're unsure, the Half Barrel is the most popular choice for most gardens.

Drainage & Alternative Use

Planters can be supplied:

• With drainage holes (recommended for most planting)
• Without drainage holes (for custom use or lining)

These planters can also be used for water features.
If this is your intention, please leave a note at checkout requesting a water-tight check prior to dispatch.

For Best Results & Longevity

• Use good-quality compost
• Add a base layer of larger stones, topped with gravel, to improve drainage
• Ensure water can drain freely to avoid waterlogging

Oak is a natural material and should not be left completely dry for extended periods.
If allowed to dry out, the staves may shrink slightly — this is normal and will naturally resolve as the timber reabsorbs moisture.

These barrels planters are made from genuine reclaimed French oak wine barrels.

Each one will vary in:

• Colour tone
• Grain pattern
• Marks and ageing
• Metal band finish

This is part of their character — no two are the same.

Over time, the oak will naturally weather to a soft silver-grey if left untreated.

Outdoor Durability

Oak is naturally durable and well-suited for outdoor use.

No treatment is required, but if you wish to maintain the original colour, you can apply an exterior oil.

Over time:

• The wood may dry and move slightly
• Surface cracks and changes are normal
• This does not affect structural integrity

Pallet Deliveries

• Someone must be present to receive the goods
• Delivery is kerbside only due to the size and weight of the barrels
