Oil Colours & Finishes Guide
A guide to our hand-finished oil colours available for solid oak beams, shelves and window boards and more.
This guide shows the oil finishes available across our solid oak products, including fireplace beams, floating shelves, window sills and custom pieces.
The oils enhance the natural grain and character of the oak. Because every piece of timber is unique, the colour and grain will vary slightly from piece to piece.
If you are unsure which finish to choose, we recommend ordering some extra colours here and do some test patches on the back or underside of your product
The oils are a special one coat system, you simply wipe and spread the oil on, it the reacts with the fibres of the timber immediately. Wipe off any excess with a clean wipe and your done!
Lighter finishes keep the oak looking more natural and contemporary, while darker finishes create a more traditional, aged appearance.
If you are trying to match existing furniture or flooring, we strongly recommend ordering samples first, as lighting and surrounding colours can affect how the finish appears in your home.
