Our wine barrels have been freshly emptied and imported from genuine vineyards throughout Europe after being used to store and age some of the best red wines in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
They have been built from expert coopers using quarter-sawn solid oak for the lids and staves and galvanised steel bands to hold the barrels together. They are generally between 5-10 years old and because of this, are ideal for use as water butts.
When used correctly, water butts can provide all the water necessary for keeping your garden alive throughout the long summer months.
The great news is that water butts don't have to be an ugly piece of green plastic in your garden. By using a converted wine barrel water butt, you are able to create an aesthetic and beautiful garden ornament, whilst maintaining the practical use of a water butt.
Please note, barrels will vary in appearance depending on our current stock.
Please note that these are reclaimed, used barrels and therefore there will be marks from transport, possible surface cracks in the wood and weathering to accompany the barrel's character and red wine scent.
Available with or without a lift-off lid and a range of accessories.
Rainwater diverters will be black.
Raiser blocks will elevate the height of the barrel so that most watering cans are able to fit underneath. They will be either oak or softwood, depending on our stock. Particularly tall/rounded watering cans may need to be tilted, or you may have to raise the barrel further.
