This is the same professional-grade oil we use in our workshop to finish our solid oak beams, shelves and window sills.
Koate One Coat Oil enhances the natural grain and character of the oak while providing a durable, protective finish. The oil is very easy to apply and is designed to work in just one coat.
Simply apply the oil with a cloth or brush, spread evenly along the grain, and wipe off any excess. The oil reacts with the fibres of the timber to create a natural, hard-wearing finish.
Because oak is a natural material, the final colour will vary slightly depending on the grain and tone of each individual piece. We always recommend testing the oil on a small area first to ensure you are happy with the final colour.

Choosing Your Oil Colour
Our oil finishes are designed to enhance the natural grain of the oak while adding warmth, depth and character to the timber. Each colour works with the natural tone of the oak rather than covering it, meaning the grain and natural features will always remain visible.
Lighter finishes such as Pure, Peanut and Sand keep the oak looking bright and natural, which suits modern and contemporary interiors.
Medium tones such as Mocha add warmth and bring out more of the oak’s natural character.
Darker finishes such as Coal, Granite and Walnut create a more traditional, aged appearance and provide stronger contrast, which works well in rooms with fireplaces, darker furniture or older properties.
Because every piece of oak is unique, the final colour will vary slightly depending on the grain and natural tone of the timber. If you are unsure which finish to choose, we recommend ordering a few sample oils and testing them on the underside or back of the timber before full application.
