from 3465 reviewsCeltic Timber were excellent to work with, answering our questions prior to purchase and giving clear delivery info. The barrel is lovely and looks great now it’s in position.
The barrels turned up with cling film around the top, when removed and the top lifted, the smell on the barrels wow!!!
Definitely whisky barrels 😀👍
Filled the barrels with water after screwing in the taps. Both water tight no leaks.
I had a question about connecting a rain water diverter and was answered very quickly.
Great service 😀👍
Exactly what I was looking for. Still smells of whiskey. Looks fantastic. Delivered on time and in a helpful manner.
Lovely barrel, really a great feature to the garden
I was looking for a decorative but functional water butt for a prominent position in the garden. I found Celtic Timber just by browsing and I am so glad I did!
The whiskey barrel is a great way to give a third life to something that has had previous good uses. My newly created 'Hops & Grapes Cabin' (half the garage) is right beside where the barrel now resides in the low wall at the bottom of the garden. It is so attractive and so in-keeping with the theme - I love it!
The two guys from SGK Distribution who delivered the barrel were amazing. They called 20-30 mins beforehand and were most attentive moving it to just where I wanted it, careful not to damage anything en route.
I fitted the tap with ease then filled the barrel (as recommended), savouring the wonderful aroma. Sitting right next to the cabin the barrel is the perfect feature (with a useful purpose). Many positive comments have been made about the barrel.
The photo makes the barrel look a little lop-sided: I think it is the effect of the whiskey fumes on the photographer Haha!
Thank you Celtic Timber team
Dad loves it. Looks ace, such a cool thing to have in the garden
Our second purchase from Celtic Timber and won’t be our last I am sure! Fits perfectly and looks great with plants in
I purchased the solid oak mantle piece and needed an extra inch added to the upstandings which they did without question, the mantle came well packed and is very heavy, an absolute beautiful addition to our renovation
Perfect finish, delivered as promised.
perfect size and very dry, easily catch fire. In our Esse if there is little charcoal remaining I just throw in 3, light with match, logs on top and away it goes!
Got these to seal some minor leaks in my quater whiskey barrel water feature. Great natural bees wax did the job. Thanks
Old with rusty bands, smelling of whiskey - perfect!
Process of ordering was very simple, just the decision on what size water butt would best fit on the wall. The delivery was very smooth, a call 20 - 30 mins beforehand told me it was on its way. The two guys from SGK Distribution Ltd, were very polite, and helpful in placing the barrel just where it needed to be. Fitted the tap and immediately filled it with water as instructed (love the aroma it is giving off). This week will see it connected with a gutter pipe from the garage roof. It is the perfect useful accessorie to my newly created 'cabin' (half of the garage) which has been named 'The Hops & Grapes Cabin'. The barrel outside the entrance, and also on display in the garden, looks so in keeping. Absolutely delighted! I am so pleased I found Celtic Timber. Thank you.
Love the look of the barrel on our new patio, so much better than plastic. Eagerly awaiting rain!
2 equally sized pieces of wood which have raised my water butt sufficiently high enough to place a watering can beneath the tap.
The barrel water butt arrived on time and the two men kindly took it across the garden to the plinth we'd built for it. Opened the lid and - wow! - the whisky fumes almost overwhelmed me (in a good way!). I filled it with water and it leaked in a very small way from the bottom, but the next day it was watertight and completely dry on the outside. It looks really great, and Celtic Timber had drilled the inlet hole at 11 o'clock, as I'd requested. The drainpipe diverter kit was inside the barrel when it arrived, along with the brass tap. The tap is very stiff to use, and it takes a couple of turns to get a good flow coming, but that will loosed up in time (I hope!). Overall, a great way to conserve water without ruining the look of the garden.
